I attended a wonderful talk with Wayne Thibauld at the Berggruen Gallery in San Francisco years ago and I’ll always remember him describing himself as a painter not as an artist. He was clear to make that distinction.
Hi Nancy, Thats very interesting! I have always had a hard time referring tot myself as an artist and I used to refer to myself only as a painter -- I suppose I thought "Artist" was something you could only be designated by others... Perhaps this is worth diving into?
A wonderful reminder to appreciate the process - the sweeping, tidying, thinking, etc. - not just the product. Lovely Spen!
