What’s this all about?

My wife suggested I start this. Before you stop reading, she had a great point. I am an artist, a painter specifically. I have many thoughts and even more questions about art. Simply put, I am trying to figure it all out: my work, the world and how they come together.

Ever since pursuing art as a career, I have been looking for a community of artists to talk through this with. Collectives, groups and schools have existed for much of modern art history. The internet and social media have democratized art and access to its resources. No matter where you live, the world of art and its long history are at your fingertips. A byproduct is the pressure to share idealized versions of your work without exposing the less desirable parts of the process. Ultimately, your work is only yours and it can feel isolating at times.

This a tool to workshop my ideas, opinions and perspective as an artist. I’ll strive to be completely transparent. This is about the process, rather than the product.
